Gladys Nivera


Dr. Gladys Nivera is Professor in the Faculty of Science, Technology and Mathematics of PNU where she serves as Associate Dean since 2013. She was a two-term presidential appointee and Mathematics Representative to the Teacher Education Council (TEC) and was involved in policy-making for teacher education in the Philippines. She obtained her BS for Mathematics Teachers degree from PNU and PhD in Science Education Major in Mathematics from the De la Salle University, both as a DOST scholar. She was a mathematics education PROBE fellow at the Queensland University of Technology in Australia. Her research interests include mathematical investigations, authentic assessment, and STEM education. On the side, she writes mathematics textbooks for K to 10. She is an alumna of DAAD-DIES IDC Southeast Asia 2016/2017 and the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) Flagship Course on Academic Excellence for State Universities and Colleges 2014-2015.
