Patrick Ojok

Dr. Ojok is the incoming Head of, and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Community & Disability Studies, Kyambogo University, Kampala, Uganda. He holds a PhD. in Disability Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA, and a master’s and bachelor’s degree in Special Needs Education from Oslo University, Norway and Kyambogo University, Uganda, respectively.
He holds a courtesy appoint appointment as Adjunct Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Disability and Human Development, University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. Ojok’s research interests are policy implementation, inclusive education and inclusive employment. Ojok has over 20 years’ experience of teaching, 11 of which are at university level where he served as Head of Department. He has conducted research consultancies on disability inclusion for many national and international organizations including the World Bank, United Nations Agencies, the MasterCard Foundation, Able Child Africa, National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda and Uganda Society for Disabled Children. He helped develop the first master of Disability Studies in Uganda that he currently coordinates at Kyambogo University, and is a peer reviewer for three international journals focusing on disability inclusion research. He was a trainer in the Uganda NMT of 2020/21.
