Myanmar - Implementing Quality Management System in Higher Education Institutions and the Realization of Outcomes-Based Education in Myanmar

About the training:

The NMT workshop Implementing Quality Management System in Higher Education Institutions and the Realization of Outcomes-Based Education in Myanmar aims to uplift the quality of higher education institutions in Myanmar by means of developing QMS in the respective institutions and to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the higher education institutions from the aspect of outcomes-based education. The NMT training has been implemented under the management of the Rectors’ Committee and by the support of DIES (jointly coordinated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) and financed by German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ).

Expected learning outcomes:

By the end of the training course the participants are expected to be able to:

  • Design the organizational structure of QMS in an institution -  specify the roles and responsibilities of QMS.
  • Review the existing curricula at the institutional level (in view of developing learning outcomes and constructive alignment).
  • Align teaching and learning activities to the achievement of the expected learning outcomes.

Target group:

The target participants (those who are working (or) who will be working in the IQA Unit) from the 12 institutions all around Myanmar (Pathein, Dawei, Mawlamyine, Sittwe, Pyai, Taunggyi, Magway, Monywa, Myitkyina, Kyaukse, Taunggyi Teacher College, Taungoo) take part in the workshop.

  2. Online NMT Workshops: 24th July 2020, 7th August 2020, 21st August 2020, 4th September 2020

  3. Workshop II: 4th November - 6th November 2020
