Capacity Building for Effective Implementation of Quality Management Systems in Higher Education Institutions with a Focus on Accreditation, Audits, and Internationalization.
About the training
The intensive training offered an excellent opportunity for capacity building nationally in the fields of Higher Education Quality Assurance Systems in Mauritian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with a focus on National Programme Accreditation, Quality Audits, and Internationalisation of academic programmes and practices.
The programme responds to the implementation of reforms in the Mauritian Higher Education landscape, with the enactment of the Higher Education Act 2017. This has introduced substantial changes in programme accreditation and audit requirements for both public and private HEIs. The reforms are aligned with Vision 2030, wherein improving the quality of international higher education is paramount as Mauritius positions itself as a developing knowledge hub in Africa.
The training aimed to equip academic and quality assurance personnel with the foundations of effective quality management systems in higher education, thus enabling them to implement these aspects of quality assurance in their respective roles within the Higher Education Institutions where they operate.
