Enhancing Quality Assurance Skills of Academic Chairpersons

About the training

The DIES Zimbabwe National Multiplication Training 2023-2024 focused on the theme of "Enhancing the Quality Assurance Skills of Chairpersons of Academic Departments". The participants attended two workshops, both of which were held at Midlands State University (main campus). As part of their training, the participants initiated and implemented quality assurance change projects at their institutions and presented their progress at the end of workshop 2 before receiving a certificate of participation from the Vice Chancellor of Midlands State University, Zimbabwe.

Expected learning outcomes

At the end of the training period, chairpersons of departments should be able to:

• Implement the ZIMCHE standards and guidelines
• Compile departmental quality assurance policies and guidelines
• Establish viable departmental quality assurance committees.

Target group

The participants will be chairpersons of academic departments of less than one and a half years of experience drawn from the following universities in Zimbabwe:

• Midlands State University
• Great Zimbabwe University
• Manicaland State University
• Marondera University of Applied Sciences
• Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University
• Lupane State University
• Arrupe Jesuit University
• Women’s University in Africa
• Solusi University
• Catholic University in Zimbabwe
• Reformed Church University

A total of 20 participants were selected.
