Elizabeth Kyazike

Elizabeth Kyazike is an Associate Professor of Archaeology and Heritage Studies. Elizabeth is the current Dean, Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Kyambogo University since January 2022. Prior to this she was the dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (2018-2021) at Kyambogo University. She holds a PhD in Archaeology and Heritage Studies from the University of Dar es Salaam, a Master of Arts (History), Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. Elizabeth is a Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, College of Humanities, 2021-2024 following her research on archiving slave trade and slavery at Fort Patiko. Elizabeth has won several grants and fellowships such as the African Fellowship dissertation and post doctoral fellowship. Elizabeth also won the DAAD award and hence she is an Alumni of the DIES International Dean’s Course Africa 2019/20. She has been the project team leader for the Uganda National Multiplication Program 2021/22 whose theme was diversity management at Higher Education Institutions in Uganda.
