Sewoenam Chachu
Vita
Dr Sewoenam is a senior lecturer in comparative linguistics. She was the Head of the Department of French at the University of Ghana from 2019 to 2022. Due to the year abroad programme organised for students of francophone countries, she has been involved in signing agreements, overseeing organised trips and partnering with francophone universities within the sub-region and in Europe. She also has expertise in diversity management as the department welcomes students from the West African sub-region for their flagship master's programmes in translation and conference interpreting. She has also been part of the Pan African Masters Consortium in Interpreting and Translation (PAMCIT) network. She has also been involved in enhancing research output and visibility at the department and school levels. She has been a member of the Academic Network on Inclusiveness, Multilingualism and Excellence (ANIME) since 2021 and the immediate past secretary of the Association for Translation Studies in Africa (ATSA). Currently, she is a volunteer with the Graduate Applications International Network (GAIN) and the co-lead of the webinar team.
