Frank Niedermeier

Frank Niedermeier studied sociology, political science and history at the Universities of Oldenburg and Potsdam. He is Head of the Department for Higher Education Studies at the University of Potsdam’s Centre for Quality Development (ZfQ), which develops the university’s quality assurance system and is responsible for accreditation, evaluation, and international projects in higher education management, and also conducts research in the area of higher education. For more than a decade, Frank has worked on strengthening higher education systems through international cooperation. He directed the ASEAN-QA Project, leading to the foundation of the ASEAN-QA Association and Forum, and since 2020 has steered the TrainIQA course in Africa and Southeast Asia. His expertise lies in quality management and development, student research, empirical social research, and institutional change and international capacity building.
Frank brings extensive international experience as a trainer, consultant and speaker in Africa, Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia. He is particularly engaged in supporting institutional change processes, developing the leadership and management capacities of higher education professionals, and fostering international networking and exchange.
