Raphael M. Munavu
Vita
Prof. R. M. Munavu is the Chairman of the Kenya National Academy of Sciences (KNAS) and a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS). He is a Professor in Organic Chemistry at the University of Nairobi. He obtained his B.A. from Kalamazoo College in 1970, his M.Sc. from Wayne State University in 1972 and his PhD from the University of Detroit in 1975. He served as the Vice-Chancellor of Moi University (1998-2002), and as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration and Finance) at the University of Nairobi (1994/98) and at Egerton University (1992/94). He was Chairman of the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) between 2000 and 2010. He has been awarded Hon. Doctorate degrees by Kalamazoo College (2000) and Laikipia University (2013).
