Prof. Michael Mawa is a higher education quality assurance expert from Uganda. He is a member of the Inter-university Council for East Africa Quality Assurance Committee. He is the current Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of Uganda Martyrs University and previously worked as the Director of Quality Assurance at Nkumba University. He is the Founding President of the Ugandan Universities Quality Assurance Forum (UUQAF) and of the East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network (EAQAN). He serves as a quality assurance consultant in curriculum development, programme assessment, institutional assessment (audits) and quality assurance trainings for the National Council for Higher Education Uganda, Commission for University Education - Kenya, Tanzania Commission for Universities and the Inter-University Council for East Africa. He has also served as a consultant in quality assurance training for IIEP-UNESCO. Prof. Michael Mawa holds a BA in Ethics and Development Studies (UMU); MA in Applied Ethics (KULeuven); and Doctorate in Social Sciences (PUST - Angelicum). He also holds several certificates in Higher Education Quality Assurance, Higher Education Leadership and in Strategic Human Rights Litigation.
