Camilo Cortes
Vita
Camilo A. Cortes received the B.Eng. degree from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2000 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering (with honors) from Universidad Nacional de San Juan, Argentina, in 2005. He was a doctoral visiting student at the FH Giessen-Friedberg and the NLÖ, Hannover, Germany; Professor (2005–2007) of Universidad de la Salle, Colombia; postdoctoral visiting scholar (2006) at KU Leuven, Belgium; and visiting researcher (2015–2016) at the Galvin Center for Electricity Innovation, IIT, Chicago, USA. Since 2008, he is a Professor of Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogota Campus, and since 2018 is the Vice-Dean for Research of the Faculty of Engineering. He is a DAAD Research Ambassador since 2017, Senior Member of IEEE and Associate Editor of the Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy. He is also a member of the Think Tank on strengthening the leadership and empowerment of Colombian women in STEM of Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
